Operations Manager - Global Trade Solutions An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a leading global financial institution in Paris, supporting the dynamic world of Capital Markets. This role is at the heart of the organisation's European operations, providing essential trade desk support across Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities, Money Market and Repo, International Rates, SSA trading, and DCM. You will be instrumental in ensuring seamless execution of day-to-day activities while driving process improvements and maintaining robust risk controls. What you'll do: • Serve as the primary point of contact for European Trading Products desks located in Paris and Dublin, addressing issues related to trade analytics, discrepancies, amendments, allocations, and funding reconciliations. • Ensure all new trade bookings and amendments are accurately reflected across multiple trading platforms, maintaining up-to-date records for life cycle events such as expiries, resets, dividends, and corporate actions. • Execute assigned day-to-day desk support activities with precision and timeliness, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes. • Support the resolution of trade discrepancies and exceptions by proactively escalating complex issues to management when necessary. • Liaise closely with trading desks and key stakeholders including Accounting, P&L, Market Risk, VPC, Audit, and others to ensure accurate product setups and downstream flows. • Act as a first line of defence by implementing appropriate controls to minimise operational risk within the business unit. • Collaborate with IT and Product Development teams to automate transaction workflows and develop robust tools for trade booking and activity monitoring. • Participate actively in system migration and enhancement projects by conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) and assessing project impacts on daily operations. • Compile comprehensive risk metrics for management review while investigating and resolving position, trade, or payment discrepancies promptly. • Oversee end-of-day processes including completeness checks and reconciliation tasks while ensuring all procedural documentation remains current. What you bring: • A minimum of eight years' experience within the financial services industry demonstrating deep familiarity with capital markets operations. • A university degree in a relevant discipline such as finance or economics providing a solid academic foundation for this complex role. • Advanced understanding of FICC products including Money Market CDs/ECPs, REPO/Tri-Party arrangements, Fixed Income instruments, FX transactions, Interest Rate Swaps, Derivatives (including futures & options). • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate actions events along with an appreciation for risk measures and profit & loss drivers within trading environments. • Proven experience with programming or spreadsheet automation using Python or VBA; familiarity with AI-driven solutions is highly valued. • Demonstrated involvement in business change or market change projects showcasing adaptability to evolving industry landscapes. • Thorough understanding of financial markets regulations as well as oversight bodies governing capital markets activities. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English enabling clear interaction across multicultural teams. • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines whether working independently or collaboratively within team-based settings. • Strong investigative skills paired with keen attention to detail; adept at identifying issues quickly then following through on solution implementation.
